How we have consulted

A number of exhibitions and workshops have been held to seek opinions and to give people an opportunity to comment on local issues and the potential content of the neighbourhood plan.

In May 2013, residents and others participated in a workshop at the Farnham Maltings. This was an opportunity to discuss and comment on some of the issues relevant to the Farnham neighbourhood plan. A second draft of some of the issues relevant to the neighbourhood plan formed the focus of an exhibition that toured the plan area from August to October 2013 at the following locations:

• Council Offices, South Street on Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 September 2013 from 10am-4pm
• Indigo Cafe, Lower Bourne on Tuesday 17 September 2013 from 9.30am-12.30pm
• Brightwells Gostrey Community Centre on Thursday 19 September 2013 from 10am-12 noon
• Rowledge Village Hall on Saturday 21 September 2013 from 10am-12 noon
• Wrecclesham Community Centre on Tuesday 24 September 2013 from 10am-12pm
• St George’s Church Hall, Badshot Lea on Tuesday 24 September 2013 from 6.30-8.30pm
• Sandy Hill Community Bungalow on Wednesday 25 September 2013 from 4-7pm
• Hale Institute on Saturday 28 September 2013 from 10am-12 noon
• 40 Degreez on Tuesday 1 October 2013 from 4-7pm
• Farnham Maltings on Monday 7 to Thursday 10 October 2013. Open all day

Visitors to the exhibitions were asked to complete a questionnaire which asked for views.

The third draft of some of the issues relevant to the neighbourhood plan was scrutinised at a workshop in November 2013. In February and March 2014 we conducted a residents’ survey. The responses were collated and reviewed to ensure that the draft neighbourhood plan fully reflected the views of the town’s residents and businesses.
