Farnham in Bloom is taken out to the villages!

13.07.2010
Category: Local news

Badshot Lea

Farnham Town Council has long had the ambition that it would like to extend the flower displays from the town into the villages.  And this year the ambition has come to fruition! 7 locations – Folly Hill, Heath End, Sandy Hill, Badshot Lea, the Ridgeway, Rowledge and The Bourne have all had displays installed.

Farnham Town Council has worked in partnership with local organisations and businesses to make it happen.  In each location Farnham Town Council has put the plants in and the local community, whether that be a resident, community organisation or business are maintaining them with regular watering and deadheading.

In Folly Hill we are working in partnership with Park View Residents’ Association.  In Heath End with Heath End Pharmacy and the Frock Exchange.  In Sandy Hill we are working in partnership with First Wessex Housing Association.  In Badshot Lea with St George’s Church, in the Ridgeway we are working in partnership with Morgan’s the Butchers and in Rowledge with Rowledge Residents’ Association.

We are seeking volunteers to help water the tubs in the Bourne two to three times a week, if you would like to volunteer or know someone that might please contact Cath Sydenham at Farnham Town Council.

If you know of another location that you would like to see happen for 2011 please contact Cath Sydenham at Farnham Town Council on 01252 712667 or email cath.sydenham(at)remove-this.farnham.gov.uk
