Band Concerts in Gostrey Meadow this summer.
Gostrey Meadow will experience a feeling of summers gone by with a series of band concerts on Sunday afternoons during the summer months. A different band will play on the first Sunday of each month during June to September.
Starting the concerts off will be the resident Farnham Brass Band on Sunday 3rd June 2007 between 2pm and 4pm.
Gostrey Meadow makes the ideal venue with the River Wey as the back drop, the children’s play area to keep the little ones amused a calm and serene setting which all helps to make a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon.
The Town Mayor, Carole Cockburn, comments that ‘I particularly enjoyed last year’s concert and am definitely looking forward to this year. The weather was beautiful and everybody had a really good time. Families and Friends came along with their own chairs and picnics and just sat and enjoyed the music’.
Entry to the concerts is free; bring your own seats and refreshments.
Roland Potter,Town Clerk, comments that ‘Due to the success of the one off concert last year Farnham Town Council decided to go one step further and provide 4 concerts this summer and if they are successful this year, the Council will then consider the idea of developing a whole summer programme next year’.
