As part of its Rural Development programme Farnham Town Council has worked in partnership with the Residents’ Association of Sandy Hill, First Wessex Housing Association and Surrey County Council to put in a New Bus Shelter at Trimmers Close in Sandy Hill.

Farnham Town Council received the request from the Residents’ Association following their meeting with the residents of Sandy Hill.

Town Mayor, Cllr John Ward and the Mayoress, Mrs Gillian Ward, arrived to open the bus shelter on Monday 9th August 2010.  Waiting for them and pictured is Ward Councillor Victor Duckett, Chairman of the Residents’ Association Steve Newport and Estate Managers Tim Rouse and Sue Ziverts.

Steve Newport commented ‘Already I have received a number of positive and thank-you comments from residents about the new bus shelter’ and John Ward comments ‘ With the bus service being well used on the estate, I am delighted to open the new bus shelter which will provide residents with the much needed shelter from the elements’.

If you know of another location in Farnham which would benefit from a bus shelter please contact Cath Sydenham at Farnham Town Council.
