Large Audience Enjoys Farnham Big Band
Over 700 people, many of which were celebrating Father’s Day, basked in the warm sun in Gostrey Meadow yesterday (20th June) whilst listening to the delightful sounds of Farnham Big Band (FABB).
Performing for the first time in Farnham Town Council’s bandstand, the Mayor of Farnham, Cllr John Ward introduced the band to the large audience, which provided entertainment of modern jazz, funk and latin songs, as part of the Council’s popular Music in the Meadow season.
Light refreshments were available to purchase from Wayne’s Whippy Ice Cream and the Charity Tea Tent, which was hosted by the Farnham Hedgehogs.
Lead member of the Tourism & Events Working Group, Cllr Stephen O’ Grady commented, “The band was excellent and it was lovely to see so many people enjoying the concert. I look forward to seeing everyone yesterday and hopefully some new faces at the rest of the concerts and especially at Picnic in the Park on 4th July.”
