The first in the series of free musical concerts, organised by Farnham Town Council took place in Gostrey Meadow yesterday (Sunday 13th). Four piece motown and soul group, twentyfivemiles launched this year’s ‘Music in the Meadow’ season with a two hour performance.
The audience, of approximately 550 people sat in the Meadow, enjoying the music, which consisted of covers of popular tunes, such as ‘Mustang Sally’ and ‘You Make Me Want To Shout’.
One resident commented, “I’m thrilled Farnham Town Council is continuing to provide the concerts. I went to every one last year and thoroughly enjoyed all of them.”
Light refreshments were available to purchase from the Charity Tea Tent, which was hosted by 11th Farnham Scouts and thanks to the warm sunny weather, Wayne’s Whippy Ice Cream did a roaring trade!
The programme continues this Sunday 20th June with a group with a band, which has yet to experience the delight of performing in Farnham’s bandstand. For more information, click here.
