New Bus Shelter for Hale Road

Working in partnership with Surrey County Council, Farnham Town Council has replaced the bus shelter near Portland House in Hale Road.

Local residents and visitors to the hospital were disappointed when the former well-used bus shelter was removed from the land to the rear when the site was packaged and sold to Bellway Homes for redevelopment.  

With funding from Surrey County Council, Farnham Town Council was able to secure the installation of a shelter that could be fitted onto the pavement as it is quite narrow here, so that this well-used bus stop could be protected from bad weather.  

The old shelter will be reused in another location where the footpath is wider and can accommodate the side panels which are usually installed.
