500 strong crowd at Music in the Park
Enjoying Herd of Sax
Sunday afternoon, 16 August, saw the best Music in the Park concert to date with over 500 people attending! The band, Herd of Sax, entertained the audience with their crowd pleasing light swing style music.
Herd of Sax are a 12 piece saxophone ensemble group with each player performing on a different style saxophone.
One gentleman who has lived in Farnham for over 30 years commented that ‘ it’s simple, put a bandstand in the park and put bands on the stand on a Sunday afternoon and you get all walks of life from the local community from the family with a few week old baby and a young child, to a group friends from the residential home’.
The concert was free to enter and is part of the Summer Music in the Park concerts. The next concert takes place on Sunday 6th September 2009 and sees the band Lou’s Sextet perform jazz between 3pm and 5pm.
