Our cemeteries

We look after:

  • Green Lane Cemetery, Green Lane, Farnham, GU9 8TQ
  • Hale Cemetery, Alma Lane, Upper Hale, GU9 0LR
  • West Street Cemetery, West Street, Farnham, GU9 7AP

Farnham Town Council is the burial authority. This means we are responsible for burials which take place in the cemeteries, maintaining the cemeteries and the upkeep of the cemetery records.

Burials and interment of ashes

Farnham Town Council is the burial authority for four Farnham cemeteries. These are located at Badshot Lea, Green Lane, Hale and West Street.

To arrange a full burial or the interment of ashes, please complete our Notice of burial form. A local undertaker can help you arrange interring ashes if you wish although you can do this yourself if you prefer.

Cemetery fees

These fees and charges are for cemeteries managed by Farnham Town Council.

Memorials

To place a memorial in one of our cemeteries you will need to apply for a memorial permit.

Please contact us if you require an application for a permit to scatter some ashes and/or arrange for a plaque at the Garden of Reflection.

Our cemetery regulations and guidelines will tell you the sizes and types of memorial which are allowed in our cemeteries.

Choosing a stonemason

A permanent memorial can be placed after a minimum of eight months. Some stonemasons may recommend a longer period depending on the settling nature of the surrounding soil or type of memorial.

Please contact us for a list a registered stonemasons.

Farnham Town Council does not accept any responsibility or guarantee the standard of work or craftmanship of any stonemason registered with us.
