History in the making

Despite the rain, last Sunday’s Music in the Meadow concert, which is sponsored by Savills estate agents and organised by Farnham Town Council, provided a stage for some local musicians who have turned their dreams into reality.

Famous in Farnham was held in St Andrew’s Church and included performances from local singers formed through a common love of music. The line-up put together by John Collins of Hot Cake TV, a local resident and professional TV lighting cameraman included singers Betsa Collins, Joe Waller, Rachel Rose and Leo Dymond. The singers provided performances made up of original material and some covers including Latch by Sam Smith and Flashlight by Jessie J.

Councillor Jill Hargreaves, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “Over the years Music in the Meadow has evolved. As well as providing a platform for established bands, it now gives lesser-known singers an opportunity to perform live to an audience. We heard some fantastic music on Sunday and I am sure we will be seeing some of the singers performing as headline acts at future Music in the Meadow concerts.”

Music in the Meadow is held at Gostrey Meadow and is free to attend. There are just two more concerts left before the end of the 2015 season.
